In the Add printer wizard, when "Create a new port" is selected and Redirected Port in chosen from the drop-down menu, click next, then in the "Add Redirected Port" window no matter what is entered for a Port Name, the error: "Add Printer Wizard - "Specified port cannot be added" appears.

How can I get past this?

Is there a way to avoid the use of the "Save as" windows, i'd like to save the PS files as a predetermined pdf name and after that rename the file.

but in step 6, I don't use the distiller, I just use the driver
from Adobe's site (winsteng.exe ver 1.0.6, not the aps102.exe as mentioned in the instructions)

I was hoping to find descriptions of a few different attempts so that I might discern a way that'll work better for me..

I have a new PC and seem to be having some problems saving PDF's to my deskop and My Documents. When I click either the desktop or my documents button in the save dialog box, it saves the PDF to 'c:\document and settings\localservice\desktop' or 'c:\document and settings\localservice\my documents'. I followed the instructions exactly. I have the same problem on the other XP machine I did it on.

Any ideas?
